A Tale of Two Maisonettes

Planning permission was sought and obtained for extensions to both the ground and upper floors, paving the way for a comprehensive internal strip-out and redesign that has turned a tired period property into two genuinely exceptional 2,950 sq ft homes.
 

The reconfiguration was conceived and designed by Athens-based architect Anastasia G. Filippeou, with Amari undertaking the implementation design and on-site supervision throughout — a collaboration that brought together an outside creative vision with the practical expertise needed to deliver it on the ground.
 

The ground floor flat benefits from a side return infill and rear addition, with floor-to-ceiling glazing and multiple roof lights ensuring natural light floods deep into the plan throughout the day. This two-bedroom flat has undergone a complete internal redesign, specified using only the very best products available: tadelakt finishes carry through into the en-suites, a Roundhouse kitchen anchors the living space, and bespoke joinery has been used throughout to achieve a level of finish that feels entirely bespoke rather than simply refurbished.
 

The upper maisonette follows the same design language and standard of finish, distinguished by a fantastic double-height living, kitchen, and dining room positioned to the front of the property — a dramatic architectural gesture that sets this unit apart from a typical upper-floor conversion. Like the flat below, it benefits from a Roundhouse kitchen, tadelakt bathrooms, and bespoke wardrobes, ensuring both units share a consistent, elevated sense of quality despite their distinct spatial characters.
